With the rise of technology allowing you to connect to people and information at the touch of your

fingers, it still begs the question: How connected are you, really? With digital avatars and chatbots

seeming more prevalent than authentically connecting with another human being, it still begs the

question: How fulfilled are you, really?

Robotics and automation make life so wonderfully convenient. And at the same time, so many people are

looking down at their phone scrolling through the perfectly filtered pictures of others, wondering, “Why

am I the only one who is not happy?”

Research conducted at San Francisco University found that students who used their phones the most

reported feeling more lonely and isolated than peers who were less dependent on their devices (Peper et

al). Perhaps you can relate to the constant compulsion to compare yourself any time you see someone

with more likes, more followers, more ‘happiness’ going on in their life than yours.

Many people are looking outside at the world for validation, leaning on other people’s definition of success

and taking it on as their own, rather than taking the journey inward to discover what really matters to

them, and what they want their lives to be about.

“I think self-awareness is probably the most important thing towards being a champion”

Billie Jean King

Mindset Coach

I remember growing up extremely shy and insecure. I hated my job and dreaded going to work every time Monday rolled around. I would press the snooze button because I lacked excitement to get up. I knew I had to make a change or else I would continue experiencing this numb resigned existence of going through the motions in life – lacking meaning and deep connection.

Over the past 7 years, I have invested over $60,000 in my own personal development to transform the shy Asian boy with blue braces, quit my social services job to trust my path as a mindset coach, and sharpen my habits leaning into being the man I've always wanted to be.

I am far from perfect and I have been learning to embrace my path, who I am, and what really matters in the end…and that has been both transformative and freeing.

I am constantly asked how I went from a low level of self-worth and a life I resisted to embracing my uniqueness, transforming my shyness, and confidence. Through the years, I have found a way to make my

coaching more accessible, distilling the most potent foundations of what I've learned and invested in over the past 8 years – at a fraction of the price I invested for my own education.

The Power of Now

The most important step to making any change is being hyper aware of where you currently are in your life. Not making it better than it is, nor making it worse than it is. It requires getting radically honest with yourself. In this section, we will go deep into how things are for you right now. And accepting it for what it is.

“We cannot change anything unless we accept it.” – Carl Jung

Creating an Exciting Future to Live Into

Once you can accept where you are, we now get to play in the realm of consciously creating your life. You will be walked through a powerful visualization exercise that will open you up to that little kid inside of you who dreams, turning your vision into something you get to be excited about.

“You’ve got to give yourself the freedom to dream – to use your imagination to see and feel what does not yet exist. A vision is not the same as goals or objectives; those come from the head. A vision comes from the heart.” - John Graham

Where There’s a Why There’s a Way

Clinical psychologist Stephanie Newman asserts that, “living purposefully means combining what makes you happy, what you naturally excel at, and things you can get lost in for hours to fulfill a larger goal than personal pleasure.” We will look closely at societal views of purpose and how you can harness a deeper sense of purpose in the things you are currently doing and what you are out to achieve in the future with a simple and deep exercise.

“Clarify your purpose. What is the why behind everything you do? When we know this in life or design it is very empowering and the path is clear” – Jack Canfield

Your Values Make You Valuable

Your values inform how you think, what you say, and what you do. In this section, we are going to distinguish between two types of values and how they fit into your life on a day-to-day basis. When we use our values to make our moment-to-moment decisions, we are consciously choosing to focus on what really matters to us. Tony Robbins, world-renowned peak performance coach says that our goals should be challenging, but our values should be easy to experience on a daily basis. When we experience living into our values daily, we experience a deeper sense of overall fulfillment.

“If you don’t stick to your values when they are being tested, they’re not values: they’re hobbies” – Jon Stewart

The 3 Steps to Transformation

Most of us know the importance of habits, yet why is it so hard to create new and empowering habits? Bruce Lipton, the founder of epigenetics and an expert when it comes to studying our subconscious mind, says that: “If you read a self-help book, the conscious mind understood it, but the subconscious mind learned nothing from it, because you only read it once and this is not how it learns. If you repeat the message of the book over and over and over again and behave that way, then the subconscious mind will learn the new behavior.” Bruce is talking about the process of habituation, where you turn something into a practice, repeating it everyday until your body understands it faster than the minds does. Self-hypnosis and habituation are two ways we can influence our subconscious mind. You will walk away knowing the three essential steps to build new habits and identify one new habit that will sharply empower your life.

“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” – John C. Maxwell

Slowing Down to Speed Up

Studies have shown that practicing mindfulness reduces stress and anxiety; improves mood and working memory; prevents relapse of depression; increases EQ; and develops awareness and resilience. We will look at different iconic figures across industries who use meditation to skyrocket their businesses and lives. And how you can, too.

“Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and becoming something better. It’s about befriending who we are already.” – Pema Chodron

Anticipate Your Way to Success

Harvard Business Review states that “great business leaders need to walk the fine line between capitalizing on the opportunities that are ripe for the present context and planning for a possible future state.” This can easily translate into one’s self-leadership on how they want their life to go. We will get clear on the potential setbacks and challenges that may arise in the process of attaining your vision and set a contingency plan so you know what to do during those perceived shakey times.

“You can’t get much done in life if you only work on days when you feel good”

- Anonymous

The Art & Science of Gratitude

We are going to dig into how science supports theories of gratitude being traced from an evolutionary perspective, different empirical research on gratitude, and fostering gratitude habits into your life to live from a higher vibration.

“It is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.”

– David Steindl-Rast

Build Your Dream Team

World-renowned serial entrepreneur, Gary Vee, says that he hates working out but he does it because he knows it’s good for him and he doesn’t want to let his personal trainer, Jordan Syatt, down. There is power in having people around you who hold you accountable for the things you say, especially in a supportive, growth-driven environment. This group will be an incubator for your vision, values, purpose, and habits to thrive. Throughout Take Back Your Human, there will be systems designed to increase your accountability to be the human you’ve always wanted to be.

“Accountability is the glue that ties commitments and results”

– Bob Proctor
